If you're slightly interested in 3D modeling, or even just want to see an example a a great tutorial series, go check this series out.Today we’ve got a guest post by Andria Jackson who has created a new course on using Krita to create a 2D film! The doughnut, which teaches you how add and manipulate basic shapes and modifiers, the sprinkles, which teaches you about the particle effect system, and the cup, which is a basic introduction to actual modeling. Even the chosen subject matter was a brilliant choice to teach the basics. It does a fantastic job of teaching core concepts in small, distinct steps, while using the subject (a doughnut) as a way to apply those concepts. One of my favorite examples that I've seen recently of a tutorial series done right is Blender Guru's beginner Blender tutorial. The subject shouldn't be like 'step by step guide to painting a horse in Photoshop', it should be 'step by step guide to photoshop painting, using a horse as an example'. Whereas a good series will choose small concepts to teach at a time, being very careful to hit certain points, spend more time on more difficult concepts, etc., and use whatever example they're making as just a medium to teach. It's almost as if a lot of people that make tutorials don't plan the tutorial at all, they just say 'hello, I'm going to do the thing while explaining what I'm doing in real time' which isn't really helpful unless you already have some understanding of the subject in the first place.
